France-based operator Brittany Ferries has become the part-owner of Condor Ferries, which carries more than one million passengers and over 900,000 lane metres of freight between the Channel Islands, the UK and France every year.
First put up for sale in 2018, Condor is headquartered in Poole. UK and operates four ships, carrying around one million passengers, 200,000 passenger vehicles and 900,000 freight lane metres between Guernsey, Jersey, the UK and the Port of St Malo in France every year.
A consortium comprising Columbia Threadneedle European Sustainable Infrastructure Fund and Brittany Ferries signed a deal to purchase the operator in November 2019, subject to approval from competition authorities. Approval was granted at the end of January 2020 and the sale was completed in February, making Brittany Ferries a minority stakeholder.

This will be business as usual for Condor, but within a new ownership structure.”
