MSC Cruises has developed a range of island experiences for cruise guests visiting its Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve when it opens in November 2019.

The private island destination, located in The Bahamas, will offer activities such as the adults-only ‘Rum Rendezvous’, in which guests will take a boat ride to a Bahama bank and enjoy complimentary rum punch, live music and dancing.

Other activities include deep sea fishing, where guests can catch and tag fish as they learn about regional species; a ‘Stargazing Adventure’ in which kids can learn about space through stories, games and riddles; and night-time paddle boarding, with paddle boards specially fitted with LED illuminations.

There will be eight beaches on the island, offering different services and activities such as a ‘Sunset Beach Picnic’ for couples. After sunset, there will be a lighthouse lightshow and a traditional Bahamian Junkanoo parade inspired by the costumes, music and dancing of the traditional Bahamian festival.

Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve will be accessible from the ship by foot or electric tram, which will transport guests around the island. Four MSC Cruises ships will call at Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, with MSC Meraviglia, MSC Seaside, MSC Divina and MSC Armonia all visiting on different days.
