MSC Cruises has announced that MSC Seaside will be deployed in the Mediterranean, joining the cruise line’s flagship MSC Grandiosa in the region from 1 May.

The ship will sail a new seven-night itinerary from Genoa, Italy, including two maiden ports of call, Siracusa and Taranto in Italy. Other destinations will include the Italian port of Civitavecchia, and Valletta in Malta.

MSC Grandiosa has been welcoming guests on its ships since August 2020 and has carried a total of 40,000 passengers. Its current itinerary will now be extended through to the end of May.

Both ships are implementing MSC Cruises’ health and safety protocol, with measures including universal testing at embarkation, weekly testing of crew, social distancing, mask wearing in public areas, and enhanced cleaning procedures. The sailings are currently only available to residents from countries within the Schengen Area and Bulgaria, Croatia and Romania.

MSC Cruises in the East Mediterranean are scheduled to resume from May, with additional cruises in the West Mediterranean to follow in June.
