The South Pacific island of Lelepa, Vanuatu will be the location of Royal Caribbean International’s second new private island destination, Perfect Day at Lelepa.
The destination will be built with sustainability features designed to safeguard Lelepa’s ecosystems and will be the first carbon-neutral private cruise destination in the world. Perfect Day at Lelepa will be audited and certified by an independent expert to ensure it meets the required standard for carbon neutrality. Cox Architecture, an Australian architectural firm, will serve as lead architect on the project.
“We believe our destinations should be sustainably designed, said Michael Bayley, international president and CEO of Royal Caribbean. “That idea goes beyond simply protecting the ecological features of Lelepa and includes showing respect for the people and tradition that make this a special place.”
Perfect day at Lelepa will be created in partnership with the island community, providing employment and education opportunities.

Royal Caribbean opened its first private island destination, Perfect Day at CocoCay, in The Bahamas in May 2019.
