Dona Lisel Regis has been appointed as the CEO of Tortola Pier Park Limited (TTPL) by the TPP board and the BVI Ports Authority.

Regis has been in her new role since 5 January and will be responsible for the initial management set up of Tortola Pier Park and will train a team to ensure the effective day-to-day operation of the park. She will also collaborate regularly with all tenants of the park’s commercial and retail spaces.

“Ms Regis’ appointment is key to the progress of Tortola Pier Park, having unique professional experience in the Caribbean cruise tourism retail sector,” said Anghel R. George, chairman of the TPPL board. “The board is confident that Ms Regis will prove an asset to TPPL, the BVI Ports Authority and the territory as a whole, as she brings with her a wealth of experience and professional accolades.”

Regis, who has more than 14 years of experience in the port industry, previously served as the director of Marketing and Product Development at the Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority and provided consultancy services for several other Caribbean cruise ports.

“I’m here to be of service to the people of the British Virgin Islands, to share what I know and to learn as well,” said Regis.

TPPL will manage the daily operations of the new landside development, Tortola Pier Park, a commercial and entertainment centre largely developed for the benefit of visiting cruise tourists.

The park will provide a venue for local artisans, storytellers, mocko jumbies (traditional stilts walkers), heritage dancers, authors, actors, musicians and other artists to help promote BVI culture. BVI’s government expects that more than 200 employment opportunities will be created from the new development.
