Carnival Corporation has named Jan Swartz as group president of Holland America Group, where she will be responsible for overseeing operations at Princess Cruises, Holland America Line, Seabourn and P&O Australia, as well as Holland America Princess Alaska Tours.

Since 2016, Swartz has served as group president of Princess Cruises and Carnival Australia and had executive oversight of the P&O Cruises Australia brand. Prior to this, she held various roles at Princess Cruises, including president (2013-2016), executive vice president (2009-2013), and senior vice president of sales and customer service for both Princess Cruises and sister brand Cunard (2004-2009). Back in 2001, she was appointed as vice president of strategy and business development, during which time she helped with the P&O Princess acquisition by Carnival Corporation.

“Jan is a highly respected executive and a role model," said Arnold Donald, president and CEO of Carnival Corporation. "Jan is a champion of innovation and a proven leader."

Swartz replaces Stein Kruse, who served as CEO of Holland America Group from 2013 to 2020. Kruse will now take on a new role as senior advisor to the chairman and CEO of Carnival Corporation.

"Stein's knowledge and experience have been invaluable to the corporation during the course of his career," said Donald. "This new role provides us an opportunity to further leverage his expertise and skills, providing widespread benefits to the company."
