Vikand, formerly MHG Medical Management Services, has been appointed as the medical consultant for a fleet of vessels managed by FleetPro Passenger Ship Management.

FleetPro manages and operates a fleet of 67 passenger cruise ships, providing a combination of nautical, technical, hotel and catering management services. The company appointed Vikand to manage medical services onboard two of its vessels in 2014 and, as of 1 January, extended the contract to cover the remainder of its fleet.

“Vikand’s maritime medical expertise will enable us to enhance our medical operations in support of the variety in demand our clients have based on customer mix and itineraries,” said Captain Nick Inglis, executive vice president of FleetPro.

Vikand’s services include creating customised standard operating procedures and designing the layout of medical centres for newbuilds and refurbished ships. The company also provides medical equipment and X-ray calibration, as well as servicing and formulary management.

“We are delighted to expand our partnership with FleetPro,” said Peter Hult, Vikand president. “Vikand is dedicated to ensuring the provision of the highest level of medical services for the fleet of vessels managed by FleetPro.”
