Carus has delivered its point-of-sale (POS) solution to Smyril Line, with 24 units installed onboard the Faroese ferry operator’s ship, Norröna.

Smyril Line will use the POS mobile app for stock handling, orders and inventory. The solution will provide the ferry line with real-time management of its retail and restaurant inventory.

“The power of the POS solution from Carus is its ability to handle multiple sales channels,” said Frederik Ornstein, chief operating officer of Carus. “Whether it’s the bar, the restaurant, the cafeteria or the tax-free shop, it's all handled in the one system making it seamless across the business."

Carus delivered the solution in parallel with the implementation of its reservation system. Both projects were completed remotely as a cooperation between teams in Denmark, Sweden and Finland.

“The Carus team really understands what we need and can deliver this using their standard solution,” said Lasse Breckmann, onboard services manager for Smyril Line. “This is something we have not found elsewhere.”
