Angie Redhead, cruise and operations manager at Liverpool Cruise Terminal, has been appointed as chair of CruiseBritain for three years.

Redhead will replace Darren Taylor as the head of the destination association, which counts ports, destinations and service providers as its members.

“Angie has been enormously successful in her work for Liverpool and is also a tireless and positive ambassador for Britain,” said Taylor. “Her experience in the cruise industry, plus the wider travel business, will be of great value to CruiseBritain and I feel absolutely confident that Angie’s passion for the industry will enable our organisation to continue to flourish.”

Inn her new role, Redhead will continue CruiseBritain’s work with VisitBritain and VisitEngland to increase Britain’s share of the Northern European day call market. The association will also continue working with the European Sea Ports Association’s newly formed Cruise & Ferry Ports Network to improve collaboration in the European cruise industry.

“I am delighted to take on the position of chair of Cruise Britain at a time when the UK cruise offer is stronger than ever and our potential is at its greatest,” said Redhead. “UK ports have always worked collaboratively together to enhance our offer to both the passenger and the cruise line and I am really looking forward to the challenge and opportunity during my time as chair.”
