Virgin Voyages’ second ship is to be called Valiant Lady and will sail seven-night Mediterranean itineraries from Barcelona, Spain after she debuts in May 2021.

According to the cruise line, the name Valiant Lady “embodies the idea that women design, captain, lead and champion change in the maritime industry”.

“We are thrilled to unveil the name of our second ship – Valiant Ladyand to deliver on our commitment to offer travellers a sea change in how they can experience cruising in this fantastic part of the world,” said Tom McAlpin, CEO of Virgin Voyages.

Valiant Lady will offer three different itineraries around the Mediterranean from her homeport of Barcelona, all lasing seven nights. The first itinerary will include calls at Monaco and Marseille, France, while the second will visit Toulon, France and Cagliari, Italy. The third will travel around the Iberian Peninsula, calling at Malaga, Spain and Gibraltar. Every sailing will feature a Friday overnight stay in Ibiza, Spain.

Virgin Voyages’ first ship, Scarlet Lady, will debut in 2020 and homeport in Miami, offering four- and five-night cruises.
