Viking Line is renovating Viking Grace and Amorella, which travel between Turku and Stockholm.

Both ships were taken out of service briefly for the renovations, with Viking Grace returning to service on 21 January and Amorella scheduled to return on 4 February.

The shopping areas onboard Viking Grace have been renovated, with more space dedicated to fashion products and Viking Line’s range of wines and champagnes.

Onboard restaurants underwent smaller upgrades with the renewal of renewal of Oscar, the á la carte restaurant, and the children’s table in The Buffet.

Amorella’s cabins are being renovated and will now include inside cabins for families, with a double and single bed.

Its Tapas & Wine café will become a new Coffee & Wine café, with views of the archipelago. The renewed café will serve baked goods, coffees and afternoon tea during the day, and turn into a wine bar in the evening.

Other renovations during the docking phase include the renovation of the ship’s conference areas.

“Our ships are docked, on average, once every two years,” said Valpuri Mäkinen, route manager for Viking Line. “Technical maintenance is important for our fleet, which is constantly on the move. This allows us the possibility to renew our ships to meet the changing trends and requests of our passengers.”
