There’s no question that these are challenging times for our passenger shipping customers. Margins are being squeezed and therefore cost cutting is common practice. We believe that the key to success at this time is to achieve transparency in the supply chain while getting the right balance between quality and immediate costs.
At Saifee, we often advise our clients to buy smart rather than buy cheap. This not only applies to end users, but to buyers right across the supply chain – right up to the manufacturer. Having said that, acknowledging the supply chain complexities that are rife within the dynamic economic climate, it is vital to effectively manage the idiosyncrasies with transparency – this can be achieved through partnerships.
Since its establishment in 1971 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Saifee has since moved on greatly from the days of the old-fashioned ‘traditional’ type chandlery. Over the past 45 years, we have successfully earned a reputation for being one of the leading and most reliable partners to the maritime supply chain in the Middle East. We aim to provide clients across the globe with a cost-effective, high quality around-the-clock supply solution: indeed, we maintain an inventory of over 40,000 line items, specialising in all areas and provisions for cabin and technical stores, which are available for immediate supply.
We aren’t interested in doing short-term business. We take a long-term approach to our supply chain partnerships and we always take in to consideration the market sentiment and the client’s specific requirements when approaching contracts/negotiations. With this in mind, we effectively communicate, tailor better pricing structures and provide transparency within the supply chain which all offer multiple advantages to our clients who seek to streamline their procurement strategies.
Being ISO9001 & OHSAS certified, our food safety and handling standards have continually met and surpassed the ISO22000 & HACCP certification with an additional annual accreditation from the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health in the UK. It is our continual and progressive effort to adapt and keep abreast of technology and regulations in our operating environment, which allows us to reinforce our commitment in providing quality and service to all our clients.
With a fully owned and certified logistics fleet, specialised sourcing, partnerships with the key food and beverage distributors – including fresh produce, 45 years of technical and provisions supply chain expertise and a 40,000-line item technical stock holding in a 350,000 square foot facility, we are fully equipped to service supply chain requirements right across the cruise industry – whether it is one bolt that is required, or a full container of fresh produce. We currently supply leading cruise lines making calls across the UAE region and aim to make ordering stores a pleasant experience rather than an operational task.
