Celebrity Reflection officially completed Celebrity Cruises’ luxury Solstice Class fleet on 9 October 2012 during a celebratory handover ceremony onboard the ship. Celebrity Cruises’ president and CEO Michael Bayley and Richard Fain, chairman and CEO of parent company Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., joined Bernard Meyer of shipbuilder Meyer Werft at the ceremony.
A promotional cruise is scheduled from 10-12 October to formally launch the vessel, during which invited members of the European media and travel partners will reside onboard the ship, before disembarking in Amsterdam. The ship will then embark on a series of Mediterranean calls before crossing the Atlantic to begin its first Caribbean season.
The official naming ceremony of Celebrity Reflection will be on 1 December in Miami, with four Godmothers – all of them company employees whose lives have been touched by breast cancer – presiding over the ceremony.
