Award-winning musical theatre lyricist Sir Tim Rice has joined with Belinda King Creative Productions to create a new production that will debut exclusively onboard Seabourn Cruise Line’s ships next year.

Produced by Belinda King Creative Productions, ‘An Evening with Tim Rice’ will be a concert-style presentation featuring four Seaborn singers and the line’s musicians performing songs from some of Rice’s best-known theatrical productions. Rice, who has won three Oscars, three Tonys, three Golden Globes and several Grammys, will narrate the show, sharing anecdotes and visuals from his personal archive.

Rice will make a select number of personal appearances on every Seabourn ship throughout the show’s run.

“This is a first for me, it’s been an amazing experience, looking back over my career and the friendships that shaped it,” said Rice. “The result is a show that you won’t find anywhere else. I’ve been lucky that my work has been shown around the world, so I love the idea of this production circumnavigating the globe on the high seas on board Seabourn’s beautiful ships.”

The production will debut on Seabourn’s newest ship, Seabourn Encore, when she sails from Singapore on her inaugural voyage in January 2017. It will be rolled out across the rest of the fleet throughout the year and on Seabourn Ovation, which will launch in spring 2018.

“We’re thrilled to be working with Tim Rice since he is one of the most versatile and prolific lyricists writing today,” said Richard Meadows, president of Seabourn. “This is such an exciting addition to the whole Seabourn experience, where our two worlds, onboard and onshore, are bought together to create a luxury trip like no other.”
