Literary institution Heywood Hill is to create a bespoke collection of books for the library onboard Silversea Cruises’ new flagship, Silver Muse.

Boasting an 80-year history and a Royal Warrant from Her Majesty the Queen, the London-based bookshop will curate a collection of new, old and antiquarian books for the library. Heywood Hill will also select books to be placed in some of Silver Muse’s top suites.

“The brief was to choose books that Silversea’s guests will really enjoy and that will only add to the quality of their experience onboard,” said Nicky Dunne, chairman of Heywood Hill. “We have taken a lot of trouble in selecting titles for the Arts Café and we can’t wait to hear what the passengers think of our choices.”

Silver Muse’s library will be housed in the new Arts Café, which will also showcase paintings and sculptures from various artisans around the world. The venue serves as a café and deli bar during the day, and a cocktail venue in the evening.

“Like Silversea, the Heywood Hill brand stands for quality, expertise, and personalisation, so we are thrilled to have it curate Silver Muse’s library,” said Barbara Muckermann, chief marketing dfficer at Silversea. “We’re excited to offer guests the all-new Arts Café, which promises to be the ideal space for kicking back with a book, enjoying a cocktail or catching up with friends over a coffee.”

Set to launch in April 2017, the all-suite Silver Muse will be the ninth ship to join Silversea’s fleet. The ship will call at 130 ports in 34 countries in 2017.
