Silver Nova, the latest ship to join luxury cruise line Silversea Cruises, departed on its maiden voyage from Venice, Italy, on 14 August 2023. The ship will sail a seven-day trip voyage through the Adriatic, passing through Piran, Slovenia; Zadar, Dubrovnik, Split and Rovinj in Croatia; and Kotor, Montenegro.

Silver Nova is Silversea’s 12th ship and is the first to launch this year for parent company Royal Caribbean Group, becoming the 64th vessel in its global feet. Following Silver Nova’s first voyage, it will spend this summer in the Mediterranean until it heads to the Caribbean and South America in November. On 4 January 2024, the ship will set out on a 71-day ‘Grand Voyage South America’, which will visit 38 destinations within 18 different countries.

“Silver Nova revolutionises ultra-luxury cruising and sets the new category standard,” said Jason Liberty, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean Group. “From her innovative horizontal design to her emphasis on sustainable operations, Silver Nova speaks to Royal Caribbean Group’s commitment to deliver the world’s best vacations, responsibly.”

Silver Nova’s design incorporates approximately 4,000 square metres of glass to allow guests to view the ship’s destination from all angles, a pool deck overlooking the water on the starboard side, and new outdoor venues such as the Dusk Bar and the Marquee.

“Incredibly spacious areas, where the boundaries between the ship and its surroundings melt away,” said Barbara Muckermann, president of Silversea Cruises, in a YouTube video posted by the brand

Silver Nova has a space-to-guest ratio of 75gt per guest – the highest in Silversea’s fleet. The ship hosts up to 728 guests in 13 different suite categories, with every suite offering guests the use of a private veranda. The largest option available is its new 123-square-metre Otium Suite that provide 270-degree views.

While onboard, guests can experience a selection of bars, lounges, restaurants, Otium – the cruise line’s Roman-inspired wellness programme, food lectures, and more.

Silver Nova’s sister ship Silver Ray is scheduled to launch in summer 2024.
