DreamWorks Animation has opened the world’s first Kung Fu Panda-themed restaurant onboard Royal Caribbean International’s Quantum of Seas.

Named Kung Fu Panda Noodle Shop, the new family-style eatery will offer four-piece dim sum, noodle bowls and traditional Chinese desserts including sesame balls and custard tart. Guests can also take commemorative photos with the film’s characters Po and the Furious Five.

The new restaurant is part of Royal Caribbean’s exclusive DreamWorks Experience, which is available on Quantum of the Seas, Allure of the Seas, Oasis of the Seas, Freedom of the Seas, Liberty of the Seas, Voyager of the Seas and Mariner of the Seas. As part of the experience, guests are able to meet various characters from the company’s films, such as Shrek, Penguins of Madagascar, Kung Fu Panada and How to Train Your Dragon . Guests can also interact with the characters at various parades, at breakfast and during themed onboard activities.

“We’re very excited to continue building on our relationship with DreamWorks Animation and offer our guests new dining experiences onboard Quantum of the Seas as she debuts in her new home in China,” said John Suley, vice president of Food and Beverage at Royal Caribbean International. “A creative collaboration amongst our team of chefs to create the menu for our Kung Fu Panda Noodle Shop is another example of how we continue to ensure that our on board options reflect what today’s food-conscious traveller and our Chinese guests expect from their vacation.”

Quantum of the Seas has been based in Shanghai, China, since 25 June 2015. While based at her year-round homeport, the ship will sail three- to eight- night itineraries to Japan and Korea.
