Mooloolaba in Australia is to welcome ten cruise ships and more than 17,000 passengers between December 2015 and September 2016.

Located on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, Mooloolaba welcomed its first cruise ship in August 2014 after P&O Cruises added the destination to its itineraries. Since then, several of the line’s vessels have called at the port and have already scheduled 2015-2016 visits. Pacific Eden will call on 18 December 2015, Pacific Aria on 15 June 2016, Pacific Pearl on 4 Septmeber and Pacific Jewel on 19 March, 11 May, 27 June and 10 August.

Mooloolaba has also just scheduled visits from Azamara Club Cruises’ Azamara Quest and Holland America Line’s Amsterdam on 10 January and 13 February 2016 respectively. Carnival Cruise Line’s Carnival Spirit will also call on 16 August.

“The Sunshine Coast business and general community has shown that it welcomes cruise passengers very warmly and while many of the visitors have been to the Sunshine Coast in the past, our range of stop-over activities provides a great opportunity to see something different, whether it be Australia Zoo, markets, or our beautiful Hinterland,” said Simon Ambrose, CEO of Sunshine Coast Destination. “We look forward to welcoming even more vessels in the future and establishing the Sunshine Coast as a favourite port for Australian cruise passengers.”
