The Zhuhai Fast Ferry Company has launched two new fast ferries, Xin Hai Yun and Xin Hai Jun, designed by Incat Crowther and built by AFAI Southern Shipyard in China.

The ships will each accommodate 199 economy passengers on a single deck with VIP passengers having a dedicated cabin on the upper deck. Amenities on the passenger deck will be located to the aft of the ship to give the crew cabin clear forward visibility.

The ferries feature Incat Crowther’s newest hull form, which includes a reverse bow design to improve efficiency and passenger comfort while reducing operating costs. They will be powered by twin MTU 12V2000 M72 main engines, driving Rolls-Royce Kamewha S71-4 waterjets.

Xin Hai Yun and Xin Hai Jun will now enter operation in the Pearl River Delta region of China.
