SeaDream Yacht Club has chosen Norway-based company YSA Design to design the interiors for all guest accommodation and guest-facing public spaces on it st-ever newbuild ultra-luxury mega yacht, SeaDream Innovation.
YSA Design, which designed the cruise operator’s classic yachts SeaDream I and SeaDream II, joined initial discussion of design ideas with SeaDream’s owner, chairman and CEO Atle Brynestad. It was then contracted to deliver the general arrangement, concept and detailed designs and follow-up work.
“Our scope of work covers conceiving, developing and delivering the spaces to embody the soul of the SeaDream Yacht Club, so that guests can relax in elegant, intimate, green and secure surroundings,” said Einar Jungård, senior interior architect and partner at YSA Design. “These values will be substantiated using environmentally friendly materials and classic, timeless Nordic interior style, where neutral tones evoke calm and place the guest experience to the fore – whether through onboard activities, public spaces, artworks or the vessel’s relaxed but exclusive dining areas.”
To be built by Damen Shipyards Group’s new venture Damen Cruise, the new 155-metre-long SeaDream Innovation will have 100 ocean-view suites, five-star dining venues, spacious outdoor spaces.
“The owner is very much involved in the development of all areas,” said Einar Jungård, senior interior architect and partner at YSA Design. “The special challenge of designing this small, but complex, expedition vessel lies in creating an environment that has distinct areas which nonetheless connect seamlessly and flow into each other.”
SeaDream Innovation is scheduled to enter service in September 2021 and will sail to over 200 ports in 49 countries on all seven continents in her first year of operation. Highlights will include calls to remote destinations like Svalbard and the fjords in Norway, the Northwest Passage, Antarctica, Japan, New Zealand, the Fiji Islands and the Great Barrier Reef off the coast of Australia.
