WMS is to provide its Cellular at Sea connectivity service for Windstar Cruises’ new Star Seeker, which will start sailing in December 2025.
Windstar Cruises will offer the Cellular at Sea service, which is designed for people who want to make calls, send text messages and use online apps such as email and mobile banking, in addition to Wi-Fi connectivity onboard Star Seeker.
“Cellular at Sea offers an alternative option for guests to stay connected, in addition to the regular onboard Wi-Fi internet,” said Lieven Van Daele, director of guest experiences at Windstar Cruises. “This service ensures that guests can maintain their connectivity throughout their voyage, providing convenience and flexibility for all their communication needs.”
WMS, which introduced the first cruise ship wireless network more than two decades ago, also provides the Cellular at Sea service to all existing ships in the Windstar Cruises fleet.
“WMS is proud to deliver wireless connectivity to the Windstar Star Seeker given our shared commitment to innovating in the cruise industry,” said Brent Horwitz, chief customer engagement officer at WMS. “Our partnership with Windstar is focused on ensuring their very best passenger and crew experience, through the latest cellular connectivity technology. Our goal is to provide business value to the cruise line and to complement ship Wi-Fi services.”
