Spared transforms design waste into bespoke decorative items for clients

By Rebecca Gibson |

UK-based design agency Volume Creative has launched Spared, a new creative service that enables organisations to turn waste materials into bespoke furniture and objects.

Founded after years of research and development, Spared aims to reduce waste from the interior design industry that typically ends up in landfill sites by reusing materials to create timeless pieces that “tell stories of the past and of hope for the future”. The service can also organise beach clean-ups and offers products made from three core terrazzo materials created using recycled plastics and shell called Plarix and Molelk.

“We want Spared to fuel collaboration and innovation and offers brands and designers new solutions to curb waste going to landfill,” said Francesca Henley, partner and head of interiors at Volume Creative, which has worked on cruise ship interiors.
