Virgin Voyages has partnered with Jennifer Lopez, American singer, actress and dancer, to develop well-being, fitness, design collaborations and entertainment programmes for the Virgin fleet.

Lopez will act as an investor as well as chief entertainment and lifestyle officer for the cruise line.

“My artistic and social mission is to empower, inspire and entertain,” said Lopez. “Any opportunity that I get to combine all these attributes into a partnership and collaboration is exciting for me. I am inspired by Virgin Voyages’ dedication to creating irresistible experiences and focus on well-being, which all fits perfectly with my own lifestyle and brand ethos.”

As part of the collaboration, Virgin Voyages will also offer JLo Beauty onboard its ships.

“We knew immediately that we wanted Jennifer to be a partner and to help Virgin Voyages shape the future of travel on the high seas,” said Sir Richard Branson, founder of Virgin Group. “She is one of the most talented and hardest working people out there. I admire her as an artist, as an entrepreneur and as a person.”

Lopez’s role will include decision-making rather than taking on a purely ceremonial role as godmother.

“After the last two years, vacations have never been more needed, so we searched for someone very special to join us on this voyage,” said Tom McAlpin, CEO of Virgin Voyages. “Jennifer is a trailblazer and embodies the spirit that lives inside of Virgin Voyages and our people. As an investor and advisor, she turns the godmother tradition on its head and makes it powerful and limitless. We couldn’t be more excited for what is ahead.”

Virgin Voyages made its US debut in October 2021 and the cruise line’s second and third ships, Valiant Lady and Resilient Lady, will be joining the fleet in March and August 2022 respectively.
