Virgin Voyages is to pay homage to the Virgin brand’s legacy in the music business by offering a record shop, private karaoke lounge and a programme of live music from award-winning musicians and DJs onboard Scarlet Lady when she debuts in 2020.

Named Voyage Vinyl, the record shop will sell albums of all genres from different eras, limited-edition curated albums, special editions of classics, music magazines, headphones and record players. It will also have personal listening stations for guests, and it will double as a performance spot for live sets mixed by Scarlet Lady’s resident DJs.

Meanwhile, The Groupie will be a karaoke, gaming and movie lounge designed by American filmmaker, screenwriter, producer and entrepreneur Roman Coppola. The lounge, which can be booked, will be a modernist take on a Japanese-style karaoke room.

Virgin Voyages’ residency programme for The Beach Club at Bimini will feature performers such as Grammy and Oscar-winning DJ, songwriter and record producer Mark Ronson, who will play four times in 2020. Others in the line-up include Grammy-nominated electronic music duo Sofi Tukker and multi-platinum chart-topping artist, DJ, producer/ remixer MK (Marc Kinchen).

WhiteLabel Creative, a group of music industry insiders that specialise in sensory branding and cultural programming for hospitality and lifestyle experiences, will help to secure DJs for the residency programme. The company will also develop the background sonic palettes across the ship.
