Viking has taken delivery of Viking Rota, its latest longship, which will sail itineraries on Europe’s Rhine, Main and Danube rivers.

Spanning three decks, Viking Rota features the brand’s patented square bow, an indoor/outdoor Aquavit Terrace, an asymmetric corridor layout to enable two-room suites and 95 staterooms with a Scandinavian design.

The 190-guest vessel will operate various itineraries including the ‘Grand European Tour’, ‘Danube Waltz’, ‘Rhine Getaway’, ‘Tulips & Windmills’, ‘Christmas on the Rhine’ and ‘Danube Christmas Delights’.

“The delivery of the Viking Rota marks another milestone for our award-winning river fleet,” said Leah Talactac, president and CEO of Viking. “As interest in river travel continues to grow, we remain focused on creating more opportunities for curious travellers to explore the world in Viking comfort. We look forward to welcoming guests onboard this elegant new river vessel.”

Viking is scheduled to take delivery of 18 additional river vessels by 2028, 11 more ocean ships by 2032 and two extra expedition ships by 2031. This will mean the brand has 114 river ships in 2028 and 28 ocean and expedition ships in 2032.
