Vikand, formerly known as MHG Medical Management Services, has been appointed to provide medical consultancy services for Windstar Cruises.
Vikand’s team has extensive experience of providing cruise ship operators with medical facilities and formulary management services. It also creates customised standard operating procedures, designs the layout of medical centres for newbuilds and refurbished ships, and calibrates and services equipment.
“We are looking forward to having the Vikand team working alongside, and in support of, our medical staff,” said Kathy Anderson, corporate and divisional human resources director at Windstar Cruises. “Vikand’s maritime medical expertise will enable us to enhance our medical operation.”
The services will be provided on all four of Windstar’s 300-guest, all-suite yachts, as well as two new all-suite power yachts, which will join the fleet in early 2015.
Vikand has also been appointed as the medical consultant for FleetPro Passenger Ship Management.
