Two catamaran passenger ferries are under construction for Zhuhai Fast Ferry Company at AFAI Southern Shipyard in Guanghzou, China.

The two 40-metre vessels were designed by Incat Crowther, featuring the company’s reverse bow concept which is intended to increase hull efficiency to reduce operating costs and increase comfort. They will be powered by twin MTU 12V2000 M72 main engines, driving Roll Royce Kamewa S71-4 waterjets.

The ferries will be able to accommodate 199 economy passengers on a single deck, with a dedicated cabin for VIP passengers on the upper deck. Amenities will be placed on the aft of the passenger deck to allow for clear visibility from the cabin.

Once the vessels enter service, they will operate in the Pearl River Delta region of China.
