TUI River Cruises’ first newbuild, TUI Luzia, will sail seven-night itineraries on Portugal’s River Douro from March to October 2027.
TUI Luzia, which means ‘light’ in Portuguese, will sail the ‘Douro Discovery’ itinerary. The roundtrip cruise from Porto will visit Entre-os-Rios, Peso de Regua, Vega de Terron (for Salamanca in Spain) and Barca d’Alva.
The ship will accommodate 111 passengers in 56 cabins. The four-deck ship will include a top deck complete with a shallow pool and sun loungers, as well as Cinder, a bar and dining area. Passengers will be able to dine throughout the day in the ship’s main restaurant, Sorriso, or experience the a la carte, Portuguese-inspired, alfresco dinner at Vinha. Other venues on the ship include Novo, the main lounge bar, and Retreat, a space which serves as a juice bar and hosts wellness classes during the day before transforming into a lounge bar at night.

TUI River Cruises will also offer two new ports of call during summer 2027 onboard its ships TUI Aria and TUI Maya. TUI Aria will offer the ‘Dutch Delta Discovery’, which sails the Dutch and Belgian waterways to the city of Zaandam in the Netherlands, while TUI Maya will sail the ‘East Danube Delights’ itinerary, which includes a visit to Aljmas on the Danube River in Croatia.
The river cruise line will offer sailings ranging from three to 15 nights across the River Danube, Dutch and Belgian waterways, Rhine and Moselle throughout summer 2027.
