Tour operator Trafalgar has moved into the river cruise sector with voyages on Europe’s Rhine and Danube rivers planned from April 2026.
The 128-passenger Trafalgar Reverie will sail an eight-day ‘Best of the Danube’ cruise, while a 10-day ‘Best of the Rhine and Amsterdam’ cruise will take place on the 128-passenger Trafalgar Verity. Local specialists will offer destination insights and onboard entertainment includes regional performances, yoga sessions and in-house baking demonstrations. Passengers will also be able to connect with locals through Trafalgar’s ‘Be My Guest’ programme.
The ‘Best of the Danube’ cruise includes calls in Budapest, Hungary, Bratislava, Slovakia, and Vienna, Austria, while the ‘Best of the Rhine and Amsterdam’ cruise will journey from Basel, Switzerland to Amsterdam in the Netherlands, taking in the Unesco-listed Cologne cathedral in Germany, the Middle Rhine Gorge in Germany and the old town of Strasbourg in France.
“We’ve always been about making it easy for travellers to connect with the heart and soul of every destination,” said Melissa DaSilva, deputy chief executive officer at The Travel Corporation, Trafalgar’s parent company. “Now, we’re bringing that same philosophy and unmatched experience – valued by our travel advisor partners, to Europe’s iconic rivers. Our strategy is simple: unlock the best of Europe’s rivers through trusted Trafalgar touchpoints including our much-loved ‘Be My Guest’ and ‘Make Travel Matter’ experiences, giving travellers a fun, new way to river cruise that is as enriching as it is responsible.”
