Telenor Maritime now provides global network coverage for Storylines’ residential ship Narrative

By Alice Chambers |

Telenor Maritime has provided global connectivity for Storylines’ residential ship Narrative.

The maritime communication company now provides for a variety of connectivity needs onboard Narrative including personal, business and internet of things use, which allows crew members to track data from various technologies around the ship.

The internet connection will be used by individual remote workers and those working in Storylines’ headquarters onboard the ship.

The quality and coverage of the network is high with the internet access available from anywhere in the world, including in the middle of the ocean.

“Internet connectivity is a key component of today’s society, making it essential in everyday life, both for operational and leisure usage,” said Dr Krzysztof Kontek, IT and telecom manager at Storylines. “Therefore, it is one of the key elements of Storylines’ IT projects. Storylines is committed to providing the best possible level of internet access, no matter what route the ship takes.

“While working on the specification, we were impressed with the professionalism of the sales director and the engineers on the Telenor Maritime team. All the work was completed in a timely manner, and the management is very flexible in coming up with solutions that fully meet our conditions.”
