UK-based ship repair and marine engineering services providers SMS Group has completed interior outfitting projects onboard Holland America Line’s cruise ships Noordam and Volendam.

More than 20 of SMS Group’s team completed work in 742 of Noordam’s cabins at Seaspan’s yard in Victoria, Canada. Meanwhile, 16 employees and one project manager worked on 196 suites onboard Volendam, which was docked at Grand Bahama Shipyard in Freeport, The Bahamas.

“The refits ran like clockwork for two simple reasons, and these reasons are what sets us apart in the market,” said Dan Lockyer, outfit business unit manager at SMS Group. “One, our ethos is one of ownership and responsibility. We’re a small team and our project managers own the job from start to finish. And two, we genuinely care. We’re not a big corporate. We‘re a small, dedicated and focused team that directly engages with, and passionately supports the customer – we care.”
