Silverstream has passed 160 vessel installations of its air lubrication system, with 14 cruise ships currently in service using the technology and a further five under construction.
Air lubrication works by generating a carpet of microbubbles across the underside of a ship's hull, reducing frictional resistance between the hull and water and cutting fuel consumption and emissions as a result. Silverstream’s system has accumulated more than 180,000 operating hours on installed cruise vessels.
