Global communications operator Telenor Maritime is to provide 3G services to Silversea Cruises ships until 2023 after extending its existing partnership with cruise company.

“This is a recognition of our high level of service, and we are proud and happy to continue our successful cooperation with Silversea Cruises,” said Jan Erik Norli, chief marketing officer for Telenor Maritime. “Silversea sails to over 900 destinations on all seven continents, more than any other cruise line. And with our advanced mobile cellular communication services, we make it possible to communicate, exchange and share information almost anywhere at sea. Silversea Cruises is planning today to meet the demands of tomorrow. And so are we. That is why we will continue to improve and expand our cooperation."

The partnership initially ran for a period of three years, beginning in 2017.

“We are pleased to partner with Telenor as the mobile operator onboard our fleet of ultra-luxury ships, thus continuing a successful relationship started in 2017,” said Fabio Agostini, chief information officer for Silversea Cruises. “Telenor is a big telco operator that provides a high-quality service – which is greatly appreciated by our discerning guests.”
