The 2025 edition of Seatrade Europe - Cruise & River Cruise Convention took place at Hamburg Messe und Congress in Germany from 10-12 September, attracting representatives froma record-breaking 100 countries, over 250 exhibitors, and 75 cruise line brands, alongside over 3,000 attendees. This represents 30 per cent growth compared to the 2023 edition, which organisers of the event said demonstrated the “continued strength and relevance” of Seatrade Europe.

The biennial event, the theme of which was ‘Future Forward’, included numerous new cruise destinations in the Destination Discovery Zone, a new Tech Zone reflecting the ongoing innovation needs of cruise lines, and the Newcomers Boulevard presenting new brands and services.

Seatrade Europe also included conference sessions from more than 140 speakers from across the industry, including Bud Darr, president and CEO of Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) who opened the event. He shared the association’s priorities and the industry’s decarbonisation roadmap. Speakers at the event also discussed the guest experience, community engagement, shore power capabilities, and alternative fuel supply.

The newly introduced Travel Agent Days (11–12 September) provided travel agents with exclusive free access to the exhibition, while the new Destination Discovery Friday (12 September) opened the doors for the first time to private cruise enthusiasts.

“Wow; what a week,” said Chiara Giorgi, global brand and event director of Seatrade Cruise. “It is always wonderful to bring the cruise industry family together, but this time felt very special – there is a real buzz and positivity about our future growth and change for the good right now. The event’s success truly is a group effort, so I’d like to offer a big thank you to all of our partners, exhibitors, sponsors, delegates, speakers and other contributors for making this week one to remember.”
