SeaFrance put into liquidation

A court ruling has determined that cross-channel ferry operator, SeaFrance, is to be put into liquidation.

The Paris commercial court, which made the decision on the state-owned firm, also rejected two offers to acquire SeaFrance, including a joint offer by French company Louis Dreyfus Armateurs and Danish ferry operator DFDS. The CFDT trade union made the second bid.

SeaFrance, which was put into receivership last year, will continue to operate until 28 January and bids to take over the firm will be accepted until 12 December.
