Seabourn has celebrated the keel laying for Seabourn Venture in a ceremony held at the T. Mariotti shipyard in San Giorgio di Nogara, Italy. The ultra-luxury expedition cruise ship is scheduled to debut in June 2021.

“This milestone is always an exciting moment, as it represents another step forward in a new chapter of expedition cruising for Seabourn and our guests,” said Richard Meadows, president of Seabourn. “As Seabourn Venture continues to take shape, we look forward to revealing more details and highlights of her progress over the months to come.”

Seabourn Venture is the first of two expedition ships the cruise line has on order, with the second scheduled to launch in May 2020. Both vessels will feature two custom-built submarines, which will allow passengers to travel beneath the ocean’s surface.

T. Mariotti's commitment and dedication to the construction of the first ultra-luxury expedition vessel for Seabourn is high and for this I would like to thank all those who have long been working on this ambitious project," said Marco Ghiglione, managing director of T. Mariotti. “"After an intense design phase, this marks a new step forward in the process of building the ship, marking the result of a well-established collaboration with a major partner like Seabourn."
