Scenic Group has unveiled plans to add SpaceX’s Starlink high-speed internet service to their oceangoing fleet, beginning with Scenic Luxury Cruises and Tours’ Scenic Eclipse II.

Starlink will then be added to Emerald Cruises’ Emerald Azzurra and Emerald Sakara, the latter of which is scheduled to launch in August. Finally, Scenic Eclipse will receive the service by the end of 2023.

SpaceX’s Starlink provides cruise ships with internet speeds of up to 70 times faster than standard using a network of 3,500 satellites, which it plans to eventually expand to more than 42,000 satellites. The service is available in many of Scenic’s destinations and cruising routes, which range from Europe to Antarctica.
