Scenic Cruises’ first ‘discovery yacht’ is to offer eight bars and lounges, nine dining venues serving regional cuisine, and 24-hour room service when she debuts in August 2018.

Scenic Eclipse’s ‘small and intimate’ dining venues will offer provincial dishes from the regions the ship will visit, as well as more sophisticated gastronomy.

Options include French cuisine and champagne in Lumière, fine Italian dining in the main Elements restaurant, casual meals in Azure Bar & Café, a private eight-diner degustation experience at the Chef’s Table, buffet or grilled food at the poolside Yacht Club, and Asian fusion cuisine and a Japanese sake and sushi bar in Koko’s. Another highlight will be the open Teppanyaki grill, specially designed for 10 guests.

Alternatively, guests can dine in their suites, choosing meals and beverages from a comprehensive intercontinental menu that is available 24 hours a day.

In addition, guests can fine-tune their own cooking skills or watch professional demonstrations at Epicure, Scenic Eclipse’s dedicated cooking emporium with special preparation stations, a large TV screen, and a hydroponic herb garden.

Currently under construction at the Uljanik Shipyard in Pula, Croatia, the all-suite Scenic Eclipse will be delivered in August 2018. The vessel has been designed with the highest passenger ship ice-class rating – Polar Class 6 – to allow it to operate in polar waters. The yacht will also be equipped with ABB equipment and zero-speed stabiliser fins that are 50% larger than the standard model. She will be classed by Bureau Veritas.

Scenic Eclipse will be able to accommodate 228 guests in 114 all-veranda suites and will also offer a 240-seat theatre; a spa with treatment rooms, indoor and outdoor Jacuzzis and plunge pools; and a gym with a separate yoga and Pilates studio.

Scenic’s onboard Discovery Team will also make use of a fleet of Zodiacs and kayaks, scuba diving and snorkelling equipment, two onboard helicopters, and a seven-seat submarine for shore excursions.

The vessel will embark on her maiden cruise on 31 August 2018, sailing from Istanbul in Turkey to Venice, Italy. This voyage will be followed by 18 different itineraries in The Americas, Antarctica, Europe, the Mediterranean, and the Arctic and Norwegian Fjords.
