Regent Seven Seas Cruises has officially christened its newest ship, Seven Seas Grandeur, during a gala celebration in Miami, Florida.

Sarah Fabergé, founding member of the Fabergé Heritage Council and great-granddaughter of Russian jeweller Peter Carl Fabergé, served as godmother at the black-tie evening event. Kristin Chenoweth, an Emmy and Tony award-winning actor and singer and New York Times best-selling author, provided the evening’s entertainment. Travel partners, local community leaders, media representatives and past Regent Seven Seas guests also attended the christening ceremony.

During the event, the brand also unveiled Fabergé x Regent ‘Journey in Jewels’ Egg Objet, the first Fabergé Egg to permanently reside at sea. The custom-designed egg, which is the centrepiece of a 1,600-piece art collection, is on display in Seven Seas Grandeur’s atrium.

“In a word, Seven Seas Grandeur is breathtaking, and we have been eagerly awaiting the opportunity to christen our magnificent new ship,” said Andrea DeMarco, president of Regent Seven Seas Cruises. “Regent is the pinnacle of luxury experiences, but not simply because we have the world’s most luxurious fleet with unrivalled space at sea. It’s the people who bring the Regent vision to life, delivering unforgettable moments to our guests that last a lifetime. Our success over the last 30 years has only been possible because of the tireless work and unwavering commitment to delivering unrivalled experiences by our crew and team members in our global offices each and every day.”

Harry Sommer, president and CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, owner of Regent Seven Seas Cruises, echoed DeMarco’s comments, saying: “Each feature of this ship is more jaw-dropping than the last, from the world-class collection of art and tantalising epicurean experiences, to the lavishly designed suites, restaurants, bars and lounges. Seven Seas Grandeur sets a new standard for service and comfort in the travel industry, and we are delighted to present this incredible new ship to discerning travellers as they explore the world with Regent.”

Following the christening ceremony, Seven Seas Grandeur embarked on a three-night sailing to the Caribbean. In July 2024, Sarah Fabergé will host a ‘Fabergé Spotlight Voyage’.
