Princess Cruises’ has upgraded its entire global fleet to feature the MedallionClass Experience, offering new features that leverage touchless technologies.

Work to transform the ships has continued during the pause in operations caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. Coral Princess, Diamond Princess, Emerald Princess, Grand Princess, Island Princess, Majestic Princess, and Sapphire Princess will all return as MedallionClass ships once sailing resumes.

The OceanMedallion wearable device pairs with embedded internet of things technology to expand touchless options onboard the MedallionClass ships. These new features include touchless embarkation and disembarkation, keyless stateroom entry and on-demand food and beverage delivery, among others. The upgraded ships will also feature the faster, unlimited MedallionNet wi-fi network.

“Innovation is allowing us to pair guidance from public health experts with the unparalleled touch-free capabilities of the OceanMedallion, honouring our commitment to health and safety while continuing to reinvent and simplify the experience all together,” said Jan Swartz, president of Holland America Group. “During this downtime we've worked behind the scenes to re-engineer our operation to give guests maximum control of their cruise vacation, as well as to activate the Princess MedallionClass Experience on all of our ships.”
