Princess Cruises and Holland America Line have returned to service, with both Majestic Princess and Nieuw Amsterdam setting sail from the Port of Seattle in Washington, USA.

Several executives attended a celebration at the port to mark the vessels’ departures, including Jan Swartz, president of Princess Cruises; Gus Antorcha, president of Holland America Line; and Arnold Donald, president and CEO of the cruise lines’ parent company Carnival Corporation. Each vessel will sail 10 cruises out of the port to Alaska until September.

Historically, one in two guests who sail to Alaska are onboard a ship from one of the two cruise lines. Each ship visit to Seattle will directly contribute more than $364,000 to the local economy through provisioning, port taxes and spending during a full season.
