Porto Cruise Terminal in Portugal welcomed 112 cruise ship calls in 2022, beating its previous record of 101, set in 2019.

Last year, 108,626 cruise passengers passed through Porto’s two terminals, marking a 22.5 per cent rise from 2019.

Total gross tonnage exceeded six million in 2022, an increase of 56 per cent compared to 2019 and 33 per cent compared to 2018. This is due to the port receiving both more ships and a greater number of larger vessels. Highlights of the 2022 season included maiden visits from 22 ships, an inaugural call from Disney Cruise Line and six turnarounds.

Porto Cruise Terminal expects to break these records again in 2023 as it currently scheduled to receive 140 calls and an estimated 180,000 passengers.
