PortMiami and Miami-Dade County will hold a groundbreaking ceremony on 8 January 2026 to mark the start of construction on Cruise Terminal G.

Cruise Terminal G is being developed in a partnership between Miami-Dade County, PortMiami, Royal Caribbean Group and design-build contractor Lemartec-NV2A JV. The terminal will be a LEED-certified facility that will serve Royal Caribbean, Celebrity Cruises and Silversea vessels. The terminal is designed to accommodate next-generation cruise ships with capacities of up to 7,000 passengers.

The terminal complex will feature a multi-level parking structure integrated with a ground-level intermodal transportation hub, supporting over 2,100 vehicles and bus traffic for arriving and departing passengers. The design will allow passengers to be separated by floor to streamline embarkation and disembarkation, reducing congestion for guests and crew.

The project replaces the previous Terminal G building, originally constructed in 1999. The terminal is scheduled for completion by the end of 2027.

Attendees at the ceremony will include Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava; Miami-Dade County chief operating officer Jimmy Morales; PortMiami director and CEO Hydi Webb; members of the Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners; Royal Caribbean Group chairman and CEO Jason Liberty; Lemartec president and CEO Manuel R. Garcia-Tuñon; and NV2A president and CEO Gilberto Neves.
