Port Tampa Bay in Florida has installed two new passenger boarding bridges at Cruise Terminal 2 and one at Cruise Terminal 6. The installation is part of a major investment to improve cruise operations and the guest experience at the US port.

The new bridges are designed to accommodate a wider range of vessels and boarding heights, providing greater operational flexibility, as well as enhancing safety and passenger comfort. The bridges feature advanced stabilisation systems, self-adjusting technology, real-time monitoring and enhanced load-management capabilities. They are also fully climate-controlled to provide guests with a comfortable transition between the terminal and cruise ship during embarkation and disembarkation.

“This investment reflects our continued commitment to delivering a world-class experience for cruise guests while modernising critical infrastructure across our terminals,” said Paul Anderson, president and CEO at Port Tampa Bay. “The upgrades represent a strategic investment in the future of cruise travel at Port Tampa Bay, improving comfort, efficiency and flexibility for our cruise partners and the millions of travellers who choose the port each year, while reinforcing our position as a premier cruise gateway on Florida’s Gulf Coast.”

Port Tampa Bay is also developing plans for a fourth cruise terminal to meet increasing passenger demand, as well as the evolving needs of its cruise partners.
