The Port of Walvis Bay in Namibia (known as Namport) welcomed MSC Cruises’ MSC Orchestra for the first time on 15 January.

Namport’s port captain Lucas Kufana officially welcomed MSC Orchestra’s guests, crew and captain, Nicola Gravante, during a traditional plaque exchange ceremony. More than 50 local travel agents also boarded the ship for a tour and presentation about MSC Cruises’ future plans for the region.

During the presentation, MSC Cruises revealed that it would homeport two ships in South Africa for the first time in winter 2020-2021. MSC Opera will sail itineraries from Cape Town, while MSC Musica will be deployed in Durban.
