The Port of Eidfjord in Norway has completed a significant infrastructure upgrade, extending its quay by 40 metres and introducing a redesigned layout aimed at improving passenger flow and vessel operations.

The extended berth provides the port with greater capacity for cruise calls, while dedicated zones for pedestrian movement and bus operations have been clearly defined and marked across the port area. The new layout prioritises the separation of foot traffic from vehicles, reducing interaction between passengers and port operations during embarkation and disembarkation.

The pier extension also incorporates a completed platform for shore power infrastructure. Equipment contracts are in place, with delivery beginning in February 2027. The 12 megavolt-ampere facility is scheduled to enter service in April 2027.

"These improvements will support a smooth and enjoyable port call," said a spokesperson for the Port of Eidfjord. "We look forward to welcoming vessels to Eidfjord and are confident the upgrades will make a real difference for both guests and crew."
