Over 90 global industry leaders are expected to share their expertise on the biggest challenges and opportunities facing the cruise industry at Seatrade Cruise Med 2026, which will take place at Las Palmas Cruise Port on 16-17 September.
The programme of content for the two-day event has been curated around the central theme ‘raising expectations’. With the Mediterranean adapting to shifting deployment patterns, growing demand for premium and year-round travel, infrastructure transformation and managing tourism in cruise ports and cities, Seatrade Cruise Med will explore how the region and cruise industry can collectively raise the bar while balancing growth, authenticity and lasting impact.
Topics covered in guided conversations will include the growth of luxury travel; the rise of luxury and expedition cruising; infrastructure transformation; strategic deployment and technology; and more. Other sessions will explore how to effectively manage tourism while fostering strong port-city relationships. The programme will also have dedicated sessions exploring the Mediterranean and its adjoining seas and the growing strategic importance of the Atlantic Islands alongside emerging opportunities in the Red Sea.
The line up of speakers includes Charles ‘Bud’ Darr, president and CEO of Cruise Lines International Association, who will open the event as keynote speaker; Jaco Gouws, vice president of shore excursions for EMEA and APAC and the Luxury Group at Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings; Justin Poulsen, head of itinerary planning, destination experiences and ground handling at Explora Journeys; Sacha Rougier, vice president of itinerary planning and destination experience at Orient Express; and Susana Gutierrez, general manager of Canary Islands Cruise Ports at Global Ports Holding.
