Norwegian newbuild to undergo several tests an final outfitting before September sea trials

Norwegian Cruise Line’s Norwegian Escape was floated out of her building dock at the Meyer Werft yard in Papenburg, Germany, on 15 August.
The 164,600gt newbuild, which has taken 18 months to build, was floated out after several weeks of testing, interior work and machinery trials. The ship underwent further testing in the harbour and was then berthed alongside the yard’s outfitting pier.
Meyer Werft will carry out further tests and trials over the next few days, before the first crew members move into their cabins and familiarise themselves with the ship and her systems.
Norwegian Escape is scheduled to begin her conveyance down the river Ems towards the North Sea for sea trials in mid-September.
