Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has unveiled a first look of its new Great Tides Waterpark, which will open on its private island in The Bahamas, Great Stirrup Cay, on 4 September 2026.
Covering nearly six acres, Great Tides will be NCL’s biggest waterpark and comprise 19 slides.
“With just one month until the grand opening of Great Tides Waterpark, we’re excited to give guests a first look at what will become one of the Caribbean’s most dynamic destination experiences that can only be enjoyed when sailing with us,” said Marc Kazlauskas, president of Norwegian Cruise Line. “From adrenaline-pumping attractions and family-friendly activities to unique dining experiences and places to relax, Great Tides Waterpark will showcase the innovative design, scale and adventure that await guests visiting the island. Together with our ongoing enhancements across Great Stirrup Cay, we’re creating even more ways for guests to enjoy their day in paradise without compromise. This beautiful island offers something for kids and adults alike, whether they're a thrill seeker, in search of relaxation, or simply want a little bit of both.”
Attractions at the waterpark will include an immersive tunnel on the ‘Wandering River’, a four-person body slide, a family-friendly splash zone and a cliff jump area. The ‘Tidal Tower’ space will feature ‘Breakwater Blasters’, reportedly the industry’s first duelling ‘master blaster’ slides in the Caribbean.

Dining options at Great Tides will include barbecue and seafood restaurants, and Tidal Treats, which will serve handcrafted desserts. Complimentary buffet style options will also be available within the waterpark. The Grotto Bar, which will be located at Cliffside Cove beneath The Great Slide, will offer front-row views of those diving at 10 to 15 feet. The Floataway Bar, meanwhile, will be located in the heart of the waterpark.
Guests will be able to reserve private cabanas for up to six people within Great Tides Waterpark or opt for adult-only spaces in the island’s new Vibe Shore Club, complete with premium loungers and a private bar. Private poolside and beachfront cabanas are also available on the island.
Passengers on Norwegian Luna’s seven-day Caribbean sailing, which begins on 29 August, will be able to attend the grand opening of the waterpark.
