New design for Princess

Princess Cruises has revealed some of the design features of its 141,000 ton newbuilding Royal Princess, which is set to make its first appearance in spring 2013.

The first of two new Princess ships to be built by Italian yard Fincantieri, the Royal Princess will feature facilities such as a SeaView bar as well as a top-deck glass-bottomed enclosed walkway.

Other amenities on the new ship will include an outdoor dance club, a poolside theatre and an adults-only swimming area.

“Princess passengers will easily recognise our next ship as a natural progression in our fleet,” said Alan Buckelew, president and CEO of the line. “Just as the original Royal Princess ushered in a new era with its innovative design, we expect our new Royal Princess to do the same.”

In addition to the 260,000 square feet of public space, which will play host to various dining and entertainment services, the Royal Princess will also feature an expanded Piazza atrium.
